CLOSURE SPEACH, BY CARLOS TRINCÃO, PORTUGAL, IN BEHALF OF THE PARTNERSHIP ON THE GENERAL MEETING OF PUPILS, TEACHERS AND STAFF, WITH THE PRESENCE OF THE CITY OF STOCKHOLM EDUCATION SUPERVISOR

MAY THE 27TH 2016

This Global Citizenship Project is coming to an end. We are 7 partner schools from 7 countries working cooperatively in order to enhance our pupils' awareness on such important themes as Citizenship and Democracy, Global Warming, Sustainability and Migrations and Urban Development.

Either through global real sub-projects on each theme with contribution from all partners or school's proper works, we think we accomplish this important goal of leading our children to an European Conscience of the important matters of our daily life in this planet of ours.

This was also a way of making new friends all over Europe, contributing this way to PEACE and COOPERATION.

We need a better world!

Apart from the mandatory reports we all have to present to our national and European agencies, we have decided to create some self-evaluation instruments, such as the survey held and organized by your school, here in Stockholm.

Another instrument will be an online book wich we want may mirror our efforts, challenges, tasks and solutions we found.

This online book will be the result of several contributions from the partners, either teachers and coordinators or pupils.

After all the contributions from the main responsable teachers in each contry, the book will end with a golden key: seven pupils in each country were asked to say something about the project, so that we may have also the point of vue of those to whom the project was dedicated to. In fact, this process here in your schools have already been done, as well as in others

By doing this and adding a final list of all activities, we will have a wonderful document not only for future memory but mainly to allow a serious and responsible reflection on our teaching methods and approaches to new and unexpected challenges.

This is not a mandatory work asked by the funding entities, but the result of our professional ethics.

We are teachers and pupils and we give a face to the future all together!

Thank you.
